The Hunter ceiling fan remote control is similar in design to that of other companies like Hampton Bay and Harbor Breeze remotes to name a few. These usually come as a kit with a receiver unit that is connected to the actual fan with the remote being the transmitter. These are fairly straight forward with a on and off light switch as well as fan speed control buttons. This particular model can set the fan to high, medium, low and off in terms of speed. This would be the equivalent of pulling the chain cord to adjust the speed of the fan blades. This particular model came with a mount for placing onto a light switch cover since it can serve as an on/off lighting switch as well. As shown in the video, the unit takes a 9-volt battery and can be switched to different frequencies with the 4 dip switches in the unit.
