Outdoor Trash Can

An outdoor trash can, especially those by Toter, Brute and Rubbermaid are great as garbage cans for residential and commercial waste disposal for curb garbage removal by waste management. Municipalities are starting to use side-loading garbage trucks with mechanical arms to pick up trash cans with wheels in various standard sizes like the Toter 96 gallon shown here. These come in the normal black for garbage, green for green waste like lawn clippings and blue for recyclable waste products. Although they're large and made of heavy duty plastic, they're easy to move as they have large wheels and molded handles. Another great thing are the tight lids that go on top that are hinged, so that these outdoor trash cans with wheels are easy for humans to open, but hard for animals and rodents.

Galvanized Trash Can

A galvanized trash can like the old metal or steel garbage cans from the days before plastic waste bins is still very useful for many things besides rubbish storage and disposal. One thing that many people use them for is to store hot ashes from a bbq for disposal. Throwing them away in a plastic trash can would melt it. Also, because it's metal properties, it doesn't absorbs odors or possibly leach chemicals out, so it's ideal for storage of pet food like dog food and bird sees or even oats. On 4th of July it would be safer to throw fireworks away into a metal galvanized bin instead of a plastic one, also. These come in all sizes small and large as well as with lids.
